PRESIDENT'S DAY 2010
&
Annual Cricket Match
& pictures...
29th August 2010 at Botany Bay Cricket Club saw the arrival of 50 or so Old Stationers, partners & friends to celebrate Keith Mullender's Presidents Day. By midday, the weather could be classed as "changeable". True to form, during an excellent lunch followed by a brief but entertaining speech by our President, ominous clouds were gathering. After only one or two overs the heavens opened in no uncertain terms & a general rush back to the pavilion ensued. By 3:50, although the rain had stopped play had not resumed as the pitch was a tad 'slippery' to say the least! Discussions resulted in the decision to take "an early tea", by which time the sun had returned & the rise in local humidity suggested the pitch was yielding some of its moisture! Nevertheless, no time was wasted - as everybody resorted to the usual pastime of many an OS - convivial conversation whilst enjoying liberal libations...
Unfortunately, I had to leave while teas was taken, so I await the arrival of further information - & result, if any. We also eagerly await more pictures - if any were taken.
