OSA
Luncheon Club

The Luncheon 'Club' is not a a Club as such -
Anyone who was at the School is most welcome.
Obviously - Guests are restricted to “Old Stationers”
- but we do need to know that you intend to join us!!

As he has done so for many years, Alan Green most ably organises our 'Lunch 'Club'. There are three lunches every year - usually one in May & one in September, both of which are held in the Tudor Room at the Imperial Hotel (at ąŁ32), with the third being held at Stationers Hall not long before Christmas (this year estimated at ąŁ55). Costs shown for both locations include wine with the meal. There is a bar at the Imperial where we slake our thirsts before lunch, but at the Hall the drinks before lunch are included in the cost of the meal.

The January edition of "The Old Stationer' magazine always has full details of the forthcoming year's Lunches - along with a tear off slip that can be sent back to Alan for ease of booking.

Alan adds "Please make sure you remember to write the dates in your diary before you send the slip back to me – none of us are getting any younger and we don’t want to forget to attend, do we!"

Here are the dates for this coming year - with how to find the venue, too...

Pictures from the 2009 Christmas Lunch at the Hall on 2nd December...

Of course, we Old Stationers have to take a small aperitif (or three) before Luncheon... ...& naturally, on-going consumption is important for the digestion
The 'Green Table' - well, it is Alan's... ...& President Michael Facey's table, too
Artists, Administrators & Educators all assembled as well... The Three Michaels - AKA "The Jolly-Boys Table"...
We also believe that football may have been discussed during lunch... Gordon Rose is the proud recipient of the first new Blazer Badge from President Michael Facey
& our Guest - Hall Manager Ron Duncan (who has always been a real friend to us) - is honoured to receive an OSA tie from the President.  Sad - but this was the "President's Last Stand" at a Luncheon. Well chosen words, received with acclaim.
& whilst 'The Money Men' balance the books to 'Pay the Piper'... ...arm twisting and talk of "shaggy dogs" continue as everybody else rushes off to the Cockpit as usual.

One of our regular Luncheoners, Past President Andy Forrow, was unwell and had to miss out on our Christmas bash. A great many friends signed the "Get Well" card that was circulated during lunch - and Andy was cheered up immensely when he received it.

Webmaster Mike P has just had this email from Andy...

Dear Mr. President, Mr. Webmeister, Old Stationers one and all......

I'm now able to communicate through the computer having recovered sufficiently to be allowed access by "Erself Indoors". One of my first wishes was to thank all of you for your concerns and for the Get Well wishes in the card signed by so many of you at the Luncheon I was forced to miss at the Hall on Dec. 2nd. All of your thoughts and support were greatly appreciated by both my wife,  Susan, and me. The good news is the the cardiac procedure I was engaged in has seemingly proved to be a 100% success. I'll be 'signed off', I hope, before long. The "complications" that have taken so long to overcome are, at last, receding in their impact. I'm able to drive the car - which means I'm able to drive to the pub (though one pint is my limit!)  No red wine yet.....  Three months,  three weeks,  two days and counting!....

I look forward to seeing all of you at the AGM and Dinner in late March.

Yours,  aye,

Andy Forrow
